​This Conversation Group meets every month to discuss some of the themes that are important to us at an inner level and come through in our every day lives. Having a conversation allows us to share ideas and feel like a community in practicing our inner awareness at an outer level.

Awareness
This month I would like to focus on how our awareness operates. Awareness is something we tend to take for granted. Because we are always aware of something or the other, within us or around us. However, if we see what we choose to focus our awareness upon as a choice, what would we share the power of our awareness with? Remember, what we focus our awareness upon grows.
We often hear or read the phrases, “Think positively”, or “Be positive”. Or “what you think you become”. That’s because when we focus our awareness upon what is wrong with us or around us, and perceive a situation or life as a whole in that manner, we become closed and withdrawn. We feel the world is closing in on us and we tend to feel pressure emotionally and mentally. We might even feel ill. And we project all the negative possibilities outwards.
One of the greatest secrets of success in life is to focus our awareness on that which empowers us. Most successful people have learnt to bring the power of their awareness to what they wish to see grow in their lives. Focusing our awareness brings insight, clarity, recognition and understanding of our relationship and purpose with or in something, which we then build upon through action.
Focusing your awareness on the good does not mean you ignore the bad or the challenges in life. You integrate those into your focus by navigating them with a positive attitude and holding the bigger picture in your heart.
So how about taking this month to ponder where is your awareness focused at present, and having seen that choose to focus on that which empowers you. It can be in any one area of your life. Which once you choose to grow the rest will be embraced into that energy. And inspire you to be light hearted.
